What is Miami Dade College’s Alma Mater?

Miami Dade, my all for thee, where wisdom and compassion meet.

With deep respect, for others’ ways, may truth sought here, guide all our days.

With each door open, opportunities change. Hail Alma Mater, so sweet your name.

Where hearts can hope and dreams are born.

Where friends are found, forever more.

The Miami Dade College District Board of Trustees adopted the College’s anthem, “MDC Alma Mater,” at its meeting on Tuesday, March 20, 2007. The lyrics include themes of core values and will enhance a sense of belonging for students, faculty and staff. The alma mater was composed by MDC music professor David Brubeck. It was performed for the first time before members of the board of trustees and the College’s employees by MDC alumna Lynn Arroyo and adjunct faculty member Bronwen Rutter, who accompanied on piano.
