What if my parents don’t claim me on their taxes or don’t give me any money?

If you are considered a dependent student for purposes of filing the FAFSA, you will need to provide information about your parent(s) on the application, even if they do not claim you on their tax return.  The Department of Education provides detailed information on who is considered a legal parent of a dependent student.  Please open the following link for additional details:  https://studentaid.gov/resources/fafsa-parenttext.
