What is the difference between the NelNet Tuition Payment Plan and a Federal Direct Stafford Loan?

The Nelnet Tuition Payment Plan is available to all students, is interest free, and breaks down your tuition balance into affordable monthly payments.

Federal Direct Stafford Loans are low interest rate loans for eligible students to help cover the cost of higher education.  Students must meet eligibility requirements and borrow directly from the U.S. Department of Education through the College.
