I have a Work Study award, what is Work Study? How do I receive this award?

Work-Study is a need-based award made to enrolled, degree-seeking students as a form of self-help aid through part-time employment.

Work-study employment operates the same way as other jobs, with the following difference:

  • Income earned from work-study employment does not count as income for the purposes of calculating a student’s financial aid package for the ensuing year.
  • The amount earned through work-study is limited: the work-study award represents the amount a student can earn in a work-study job.
  • Students are paid on an hourly basis for their work, not a fixed salary.
