I do not live with my parents. Can I apply as independent student?

The FAFSA asks a series of questions that determine whether you are considered a dependent or independent student for purposes of applying for federal student aid. If you are considered a dependent student, you must report your parent’s information, as well as your own information, on your FAFSA.  Information regarding how the U.S. Department of Education determines if you are a dependent or independent student can be found at the following link: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa/filling-out/dependency
