How does taking all classes online affect my immigration status?

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) in the Department of Homeland Security has indicated that they recognize that schools may need to adapt teaching procedures and that they intend to be flexible with the regulations in this regard. Therefore, according to the communications that we have received from SEVP, your temporary participation in an online instructional environment will NOT affect your current immigration status. As long as you are maintaining your full-time enrollment (12 credit minimum), you do not need to be physically present in classes and your record will not be terminated. Online coursework may be completed either in the U.S. or from your home country, however, travel is not recommended at this time.
