Can a parent view a student’s transcript or grades?

No, they cannot. Students are protected under the Family Educational Rights Privacy Act (FERPA). Under FERPA, access to a student’s education records transfers to the student when he or she reaches the age of 18 or attends a school beyond the high-school level.
