In order to be eligible to apply to The Honors College, you must be accepted to Miami Dade College as a First-Time in College (FTIC) student seeking an Associate in Arts (AA) degree. AA degree pathway programs that students may select from are listed on the MDC website.
A minimum GPA of 3.7 (weighted) or 3.5 (unweighted) is required, and the applicant must satisfy the Minimum Standardized Test Scores described below. Multiple test scores may be submitted from the ACT, SAT, Digital SAT, ACCUPLACER Next-Generation (NG), and Classic Learning Test (CLT) to satisfy this requirement.

ACCUPLACER Next Generation: Reading 256, Math 261, Writing 253
CLT: Sum of Verbal Reasoning & Grammar/Writing 38, Math 16
*Test scores are valid for 2 years.
In addition to the above, consideration for The Honors College Dual Language Program exclusively at Padrón Campus requires a demonstration of Spanish proficiency with any of the following:
- Score of 4 or higher on the AP Spanish Language or AP Spanish Literature test
- Score of 55% on the Spanish Translation & Interpretation exam offered only at the Padrón Campus
